The IBM TotalStorage Ultrium Tape Autoloader 3581 provides a stand-alone or rack-mounted autoloader for small- to medium-size environments consisting of an Ultrium tape drive and up to 7 tape cartridges. The LTO Ultrium tape solutions provide a migration path for DLT, 1/4-inch, 4mm, and 8mm tape applications.
All models of the IBM TotalStorage Ultrium Tape Autoloader 3581 support 100GB LTO data cartridges. Models H23 and L23 also support the 200GB Ultrium 2 data cartridges and offer 35MB per second data transfer rate, more than twice the rate of other models.
All models of the IBM 3581 Tape Autoloader offer multiple platform connectivity to IBM iSeries, pSeries and xSeries Servers, AS/400, RS/6000 SP, IBM Netfinity systems and non-IBM servers, workstations and personal computers; and via SCSI to fibre channel server and selected IBM Storage Area Network (SAN) Data Gateway devices.
